First up....Did you know.....
- 1cup distilled water
- 1/4c alcohol
- 1/2 tbsp dishwashing detergent
- 1/2 tbsp baby shampoo or shampoo for normal to oily hair
- 1 tbsp spray on leave-in conditioner
Mix the items together slowly, you don't want to cause the soaps to suds up. Pour into a bottle, and that's it! I like to keep this stored in a spray bottle. This way I can easily spray my brushes and wipe off on a paper towel.
Also, for those really dirty brushes being dipped in dark paint pots and pigments, Marlena of Makeupgeek.com shared a tip of her own. Take a little bit of olive oil to a papertowel. Swirl your brush in it and watch the color break up and your brush start to look cleaner. Run some lukewarm water, take a sponge with some babyshampoo (I used Parmolive Dishwashing liquid, and it worked great) and swipe your brush back and forth on the sponge. You want to be sure the olive oil is all out. By running it under the water, and swiping it on the sponge, it should come out nicely. Lay flat to dry.
Hope that's helpful!
